Ford has quickly managed to change perceptions within the past year. Although it still produces the most popular pickup truck on the road, the Ford F-150, and a slew of other large trucks and SUVs, the automaker has managed to improve its image amid radically changing consumer preferences thanks to competitive, fuel-efficient models and the addition of hybrid technology.
One new hybrid from Ford that certainly deserves attention is the 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid. Based on the Ford Fusion, the Milan Hybrid just goes to show how mainstream hybrid technology has become as the Milan rides well, drives well, and is certainly fuel-efficient, but it lacks the quirkiness of other hybrid vehicles such as the Honda Insight or Toyota Prius.
Aside from its hybrid powertrain, the Mercury Milan Hybrid is a formidable mid-sized family car. Its styling is conservative, but handsome, and its interior accommodations are excellent. Inside, one of the best features is the satellite navigation system which provides a wide range of helpful information and data, such as local gas prices. The dash overall provides a decent amount of fun and is certainly well-designed.
The look and feel of the latest generation Mercury Milan has simply never been better. With the added green credentials of a hybrid powertrain, the car now offers an even broader appeal. For consumers in search of a well-rounded, relatively affordable family sedan with the ability to attain 40 miles per gallon in the city without screaming “hybrid” every time you look at the car’s exterior, the Mercury Milan Hybrid should certainly pique your interest.
